Fast charging for company fleets, when AC isn't enough and a public CPO doesn't fit
For companies running their own electric fleet, the right infrastructure isn't in the public grid or in the employee car park. It sits inside your perimeter, connected to your panel, controlled by you.
When a company runs electric vehicles in continuous operation (patrol, maintenance, distribution, inspection) it can't depend on the public grid or lose hours on AC between rounds. SOLX designs and installs a turnkey dedicated DC fast charger, on your land, powered by your panel and operated fully privately.
Why AC charging isn't enough for an operational fleet
A service EV with a 60 to 80 kWh battery on a 22 kW three-phase AC charger takes 3 to 4 hours to go from 20% to 80%. For a fleet with intensive rotation (vehicles in and out several times a day, shift teams, concentrated usage peaks), this cadence doesn't work operationally:
The vehicle spends more time tied to a cable than in service
Rotation forces over-sizing the fleet just to compensate for charging dead time
Car-park logistics turn into a cable-management problem, not an operations problem
A 60 to 80 kW DC charger returns the same vehicle to service in 30 to 45 minutes. Investing in a public point (CPO) just for own use doesn't pay off: it forces MOBI.E licensing, regulated tariffs and a 5-to-10-year payback. For internal use, the right model is a dedicated charger on private land.
Real-world case, Via do Infante (AAVI), Algarve
AAVI (Autoestrada do Algarve, Sociedade Concessionária, S.A.), the concessionaire of the A22 (Via do Infante), chose SOLX to implement the first dedicated DC fast-charging solution for its operational fleet. AAVI runs patrol, maintenance and supervision vehicles across the entire Algarve motorway and needed an alternative to its AC setup and a charging model independent of public operators.
Charger installed
1 × ALOHA Lander DC 80 kW (Vega), capable of charging 1 vehicle at 80 kW or 2 vehicles simultaneously at 40 kW each
Commissioning
Configuration, parameterisation and integration with SOLX Park for remote management and reporting
Ongoing support
Active SOLX Park subscription since 2023 (predating the DC install), ensuring uninterrupted support
Schedule
First contact April 2025, awarded September 2025, installation completed September 2025, final commissioning February 2026
What this means in practice: on a single DC point, AAVI can now charge two operational vehicles simultaneously at 40 kW, recovering 30 kWh of range in just over half an hour. For a fleet running dozens of kilometres per shift, this means charging stops dictating the pace of operations and starts serving them.
The SOLX turnkey DC solution
1
Full electrical works
A DC charger without the works behind it doesn't work. SOLX delivers the full package:
Contracted-power analysis and sizing of the dedicated mobility panel
DC-specific breakers and protections (RCD type B, essential and often missing in poorly designed projects)
Cables sized to the route between the main panel and the charging point
Civil infrastructure for cable runs: buried corrugated conduit, trays, terminations
Emergency stop button and protections compliant with RTIEBT
Partial and total meters for certified measurement of mobility-related consumption
2
SOLX Park: remote management and supervision
Even in a fully private setup, SOLX Park adds operational value:
Plug & Charge auto-authentication (ISO 15118): the charger identifies each fleet vehicle by its VIN, with no card or app needed. The driver just plugs in.
Battery state of charge (SoC) visible in real time on the charger display (for the driver) and in the SOLX Park portal (for the fleet manager)
Remote monitoring: SOLX sees errors before the fleet manager calls
Consumption reports: kWh per vehicle, per shift, per month
Remote diagnostics: firmware updates, parameter changes and incident resolution without a site visit
3
Post-install partnership
AAVI has been a SOLX Park customer since 2023. The relationship started before the DC install and extends well beyond it.
The SOLX model is ongoing partnership, not one-off sale. Every incident is handled by the team that has known the installation since day one.
When this solution fits your company
This solution is built for companies that:
Run their own electric fleet (concessionaires, transport operators, distribution, industry, field services, government bodies)
Have an intensive rotation that makes AC charging during the shift unworkable
Want operational autonomy without relying on public networks or running as a public CPO
What your company gains
Total operational autonomy: the fleet charges when it needs to, at the power it needs
No dependence on public operators: no volatile tariffs, no point outages, no queues
Charging cost at the company's electricity price, no CPO margin and no MOBI.E fees
Full consumption visibility: every kWh has a car, a shift and a report
Technical and regulatory compliance: RTIEBT-certified install, equipment with European homologation
One technical partner: equipment, works, software and support from the same company, from proposal to maintenance
